Our Commitment to Sustainability

Our eco-hotel is located in a unique and breathtaking environment, protected for many years by the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.

Our deep love and respect for this extraordinary island inspired us to create a family-friendly establishment with a low environmental impact.

In 2003, we joined the “Legambiente Turismo” initiative, a national project dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and local resources, in collaboration with Italy’s largest environmental organization, Legambiente.

Since 2012, the Eco-Hotel Montemerlo has been powered exclusively by renewable energy, partially generated by our own photovoltaic system. This achievement earned us the prestigious EU Ecolabel (IT/051/018), certifying our services as environmentally friendly with a low ecological footprint.

In 2022, we reached two significant milestones:

• CETS2 Certification and became an official partner of Europarc and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
• Electric Friendly Certification by Motus-E.

Our dedication to sustainability has been recognized with several prestigious awards over the years, thanks to the collaboration and commitment of both our guests and staff:

• Ecotourism Oscar – Award for Communication (Legambiente / Milan)
